A Metrolink train crosses the beach at San Clemente, CA, on November 7, 2006 on its route from Oceanside to Los Angeles. On October 26, Metrolink celebrated carrying its 100 millionth rider, a Van Nuys man who rides the commuter train to Anaheim where he works as a set designer at Disneyland. Metrolink service began in 1992 with three routes; it now has seven serving 54 stations on its 512-mile system.
