The countdown is on for Steel Wheels in California© 2010. April 17 is the date for what we believe will be our most informative and thought provoking conference and members meeting to date. RailPAC and NARP members and guests will meet at the Metro Board Room, One Gateway center at Los Angeles Union Station for a day of speakers, presentations and discussion, and if you’re a supporter of passenger rail you had better be there.

Los Angeles City Council member Tom LaBonge will welcome us to L.A. Stephen Gardner, recently appointed Amtrak Vice President of Policy and Development will speak, as will the Chairs of LOSSAN, Metro and Metrolink. Our good friend Bill Bronte, Chief, Caltrans Division of Rail will as usual tell it like it is. In addition we have presenters from DesertXpress, Siemens and Talgo, an advocates’ panel on High Speed Rail, and George Chilson, retiring Chairman of NARP, who will close the proceedings with his thoughts on advocacy and our next steps.

If that’s not enough there will be three recently refurbished Superliners on display at the station. Our thanks to Metro, Amtrak, Siemens, Alstom, San Francisco Bay Rail, Silver Wheels and Talgo for helping us put together this program. If you have not yet registered, do so now by clicking here and use your credit card or Paypal, or print the form and mail it to us as soon as possible. We want to make sure that we have enough food and that we don’t overbook, so DON’T DELAY, REGISTER TODAY!

President, RailPAC
Division Leader, NARP
