The "Skunk train" is about to depart from the Ft. Bragg, CA, station on time at 10 AM May
13, 2003. Its destination this summer is only the Northspur turn-around, half way to Willits. The train operates daily, but only on the short distance because of a fund shortage that almost cancelled all service on the California & Western. In 2003, the trains were accessible only from this scenic town on California’s beautiful north coast, as the Willits station was closed.
