The favorite whine of "nimbys" is "what will rail service do to my home’s property values?" This photo is my reply; it is in Oceanside just north of the train station/transit center. That’s a Coaster train; the station is also served by Amtrak Surfliners and will be the terminal for the new Oceanside-Escondido "Sprinter" when it is built. The area shown was a run-down industrial/redevelopment area. Now, these are all brand new homes built near the tracks and downtown Oceanside, just blocks from the beach.
