This is the Palm Springs, CA, Amtrak station that is currently served only by the tri-weekly Sunset Limited trains. One of RailPAC’s goals is for additional service to the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley either by Amtrak or Metrolink. A massive project by the Union Pacific is underway to double-track Beaumont Hill/San Gorgonio Pass. The end of the project appears to be just east of this modern station.
